Biodiversity Blitz

The Zoo is home to thousands of animals and represents close to 300 different species. We’ll explore the Zoo by eco-region, looking in-depth at adaptations through hands-on activities and experiences.
Critter Chronicles
Week-long, Full-day
$250 for members, $270 for non-members


From picture books to periodicals, news articles to novels, animals are portrayed through writing and illustrations. Join us for a week to write and illustrate your own stories about the animals at the Detroit Zoo.
Field Studies
Week-long, Full-day
$250 for members, $270 for non-members


This week long program introduces field observation methods that researchers use to assess biodiversity and the health of the environment. The group will travel throughout the Zoo, collecting citizen-science data and reporting it online for data analysis by biologists.
Theater in the Wild II
Week-long, Full-day
$250 for members, $270 for non-members


Participants will use improvisation and skits to learn the building blocks of theater and explore their relationship with the Earth and its inhabitants. Each family will receive 2 tickets to attend the culminating stage performance at the Zoo.
